Artist Studio Programme
The Artist Studio Programme has been set up with a view to providing a congenial working environment for committed artists. Contemporary Graduate artists from all over India and abroad apply for the Programme each year. Through this programme, artists benefit from their own studio space in painting, printmaking, sculpture and ceramics and are able to utilise KCA services such as the library, wi-fi and in-house assistant for all matters related to their work. Importantly the artists are given the opportunity to participate in a number of exhibitions that take place locally through other art galleries.
Artist Trips - KCA also arranges art camps to various geographical and historical sites such as Polo Forest, Alibaug, Silvasa, Mumbai and many other places. Such camps allow artists to explore their creativeness and work on their skills.
Annual Exhibition - At the end of the Artist Studio Programme the artists exhibit their works in the Urmila Art Gallery. This exhibition is part of the Annual Samaakalan Festival that is held at the beginning of each year.
Lectures / Workshops - Well known artists and creative individuals such as Krishnamachari Bose, Anand Gandhi, Jatin Das, Sudarshan Shetty, Lalitha Lajmi, Anjolie Ela Menon, Rekha Rao, Atul Dodiya, Latika Katt and many more have given lectures, seminars and conducted workshops at the Centre. They also spend time visiting the studios giving advice and guidance to the artists.
